Coffee Cartel, Bali

We stopped by the very pink and tropical Coffee Cartel early on into our trip to Bali.  It's one of those places that was literally made for Instagram, and I wish I'd taken a few more snaps, but was easily distracted by the gorgeous looking cakes, the goodies on offer at the in store shop, and all the pink decor and plants.

Coffee Cartel is a boutique coffee shop based in popular Seminyak, and was created in the heart of Wollongong, just south of Sydney Australia, where its sister cafe, Lower East was born.  The owners loved Bali so much that they decided to bring their passion to the beautiful island and they even roast their own coffee which is now also sold in the shop.

Coffee Cartel is most definitely a brunch place, with an extensive menu, that's not only colourful but healthy too.  I only had a coffee and cake on my visit, as it was an impromptu stop, ( I was waiting for Glenn, he had an appointment nearby) and we both really wanted to go back to try something from the all day breakfast menu, but in true travel style, we ran out of time for a second visit (there's always next time). The little carrot cake I did order was delicious.  The coffee and cake was served on pink crockery, with the loveliest gold cutlery, which are both also for sale in the little shop.  The staff were also super friendly and helpful, which always makes a place that much more special.

Local and ethical beauty products, as well as accessories are for sale downstairs, so take some spare cash for a little spend. This straw fan was my favourite, perfect for hot days at the beach and easy to pack to take home too.

Outside to the side of the coffee shop is the famous painted pink cactus wall, so of course we had to stop and take a photo.  (It wasn't too busy on our visit, but we still had to queue for a bit) but it made for a cool memory, plus any excuse to order another drink, this time a vanilla milkshake.  Such a lovely little stop in Seminyak, I'd highly recommend a visit and don't forget to try the carrot cake.
