Ulu Cliffhouse, Bali

Ulu Cliffhouse was one of the last stops on our 4 weeks traveling Bali, and it was a glorious day weather wise, so we wanted to have a drink somewhere extra special to celebrate another amazing trip.   Ulu Cliffhouse was one of Glenn's finds, and as it was a little drive away from where our villa was, we hopped on the bike (which is always an adventure in the sunshine).  There were gorgeous views of the Bukit Peninsula coastline, and rolling blue skies the whole way, so it was a lovely memorable moment finding our way there, and fairly quiet when we arrived which was nice too.

Even though we only spent about 4 days in Uluwatu in total, I really liked it here.  It seemed to have the same vibe as trendy Canggu, but was so much cleaner, much more laid back and had plenty of wide open spaces.  Canggu was fun for the coffee shops and shopping, but I think on the whole I preferred Uluwatu more.  So much more spread out and the beaches were beautiful with their white sands and aqua marine waters.

Opened in 2017, Ulu Cliffhouse is one of the newer beach clubs in Bali, and it really has the wow factor when you walk in.  I fell in love with the decor, particularly the tropical fabrics and 70s bohemian inspired furniture, and if that doesn't get you, then the view definitely will!  There's the most stunning views from the cliffside over looking the beach and a pretty sweet pool to cool off in, not to mention a lifestyle store, recording studio and an art space.

Where to find Ulu Cliffhouse

Jl. Labuansait No.315, Padang-Padang, Kuta Sel., Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia

When we arrived we ordered some drinks (the beach club has an awesome cocktail menu), I went for an Aperol Spritz, and later had a Cherry Espresso Martini, which was delicious and we took our drinks and sat in the pool, as there was a really cool DJ playing, and the place was starting to fill up, so we wanted to get a good spot in the water to watch the world go by on our last full day in Bali.  There's two bars in Ulu Cliffhouse, The Cliff Bar, which is the main area, as well as The Ocean Deck, which we didn't get to visit, but according to the website it's a little hideaway, halfway down the cliff, perfect for watching the sun go down.  I was a little disappointed to only find out about this after we'd left, but I guess there's always next time if I'm ever lucky enough to go back and visit Bali again.  There's also fresh, fun and locally sourced cuisine, headed by world-renowned Peruvian Chef, Diego Muñoz, as well as weekend brunch menus which would go down a treat.

I'll always remember Ulu Cliffhouse as it was one of the last places we visited before leaving Bali, and I'd definitely say it's worth a stop if you're ever in Uluwatu, for the breathtaking views alone, and of course my favourite boho chair. I most definitely would have taken this home with me to the UK, if I could have fitted it in my suitcase.  I'll just have to make do with the photograph for now, until I can find one similar.
