The brief

Mike had only just started Pizza Squisita, when he contacted me to help with his design project, so was at the beginning of his branding journey, with only a logo and a basic Squarespace website. Mike was opening a restaurant in Sawbridgeworth so needed all the elements to help market his new location, so we got to work on extending his brand toolkit, website and roll out items needed for the launch.

Mike wanted to use traditional colours of Italy in his branding, so we kept the green, red and white tones as the primary colours but developed an extended muted palette to compliment. Helvetica was his chosen key font, to keep things bold, but to this we added a sleek, more traditional serif font as a nod back to the heritage of the Italian roots of where Pizza in Teglia traditionally came from. Black and white photography was given a playful element, playing with layouts and added hand drawn textures. These went on to form artwork for the restaurant and were again used on menus and printed roll out for the restaurant.
